3 Manchester United players Forest could target on loan after Garner’s success
Nottingham Forest has seen real success with the signing of James Garner on loan from Manchester United this season.
The youngster checked in at the City Ground after ending a loan with Watford in January.
He made a dozen appearances for the Reds and instantly became a fan favorite at City Ground.
Many supporters are hopeful Garner can return to Forest for another loan next season – although that may not be possible.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is expected to take a look at the midfield in the preseason and that won’t help Forest.
It seems, however, that a relationship could flourish between the two clubs.
United will have plenty of other players who will not be in Solskajer’s plans next season and who may be available on loan.
We took a look at three United players Forest could target on loan from Old Trafford next season.
The Northern Irishman has been a regular in the club’s Under-23s this season, scoring twice and collecting an assist.
He might offer a similar player to Garner, albeit a bit more versatile.
For the Under-23s in 2020/21, he has featured in midfield, center-back and in the No.10 role behind a striker.
The 19-year-old has made an appearance for the first team and is a highly rated player coming from the ranks of Old Trafford.
The 17-year-old has been a surprise inclusion in United’s sides on match days recently – making his first-team debut in a 3-1 win over Newcastle.
He also got an exit from the bench in a game against Real Sociedad in the Europa League and is an exciting talent.
Shoretire can operate on the flank or in the middle, with a breakneck pace and a keen sense of purpose.
The Newcastle-born youngster has scored six times for the Under-23s and could be loaned out next season.
Signing a young left-back on loan is something that would make a lot of sense.
Yuri Ribeiro is out of contract this summer and if he leaves there would be a serious need for a new addition.
If Forest needs to invest money in other areas of the team, Devine could be a good loan option.
The United defender has played 13 times for the Under-23s this season, registering an assist.
Devine moves up and down nicely on the left side and it could prove to be a quality addition if a temporary deal can be made.
