India and the United States are developing close relations: Taranjit Sandhu
AMRITSAR: Indian Ambassador to United States (US) Taranjit Singh Sandhu during his visit to Amritsar here on Saturday that India and the United States were developing a close relationship in five important areas that could benefit both nations . He said the India-US partnership has become one of the most important relations for the countries and for the world.
Amritsar native Sandhu visited the Golden Temple and Teja Singh Samundri Hall, the headquarters of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), which is named after his grandfather Teja Singh Samundri.
He said that India and the United States were developing a strong and close relationship in the areas of defense and strategic affairs, health, energy including environment, climate change, solar and battery technology, computing, digital start-up and innovation, etc.
He said 55% of generic drugs sold in the United States were produced in India, demonstrating the huge potential for affordable drugs, especially in times of inflation.
One of the most important ties in the world, led by President Biden and Prime Minister Modi, is India-US cooperation. He said that we constantly collaborate and leverage our synergies and complementarities to achieve peace, stability, environmental sustainability and human development in the world.
While India is making positive progress, we still have work to do to meet the aspirations of future generations. As Prime Minister Narendra Modi called, the journey of the next 25 years would mark the generation of a new India. The purpose of this Amrit Kaal’ is to reach new heights of prosperity, Sandhu said earlier.
