Minister of State for Budget and National Planning Prince Clem Ikanade Agba assured Nigerians that the new National Development Plan (PND, 2021-2025) will transform Nigeria into a nation undergoing reform and development. industrialization.

Agba, in his New Year’s message to Nigerians, urged them to cooperate with the federal government in its faithful implementation of the development plan and to hope for the best in 2022.

The NPD was launched by President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, shortly before the meeting of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, which was held at the State House, Abuja.

The plan envisions Nigeria as a leading industrialization and reform country in Africa that will focus on strengthening its institutional capacities and capacities, as well as promoting private sector-led growth to help resolve critical issues of employment, wealth creation and poverty reduction.

Agba said Nigerians would start to see and reap the benefits of the plan, which he said was a real Nigerian plan.

He said Nigeria had started to achieve the goals of the Comprehensive, Participatory and Robust Development Plan, which, among other goals, would generate 21 million jobs and lift out of poverty, in five years, at least 34 million Nigerians. .

He reaffirmed President Buhari’s desire to lift 100 million Nigerians out of poverty in ten years.

Agba insisted that all hands be on the bridge to ensure the success of the plans.

He also said that President Buhari’s signing of the 2022 budget on Friday, December 31, 2021 was a sign of the administration’s commitment to ensuring national economic growth and staying on course in the country’s annual budget calendar from January to December.

He said the executive and legislative arms of government will continue to work synergistically to achieve these goals through effective budget implementation.

Agba wished Nigerians a happy and prosperous New Year while praying that the year ushers in greater peace and ensures the stability and development of the nation.
